Q. Why did Prince Siddhartha (Gautama) leave the palace and become a monk?

A. Prince Siddhartha belonged to a very royal family. He left his palace to search for enlightenment. Once Prince Siddhartha, while hunting, saw a sick man, then an aged man, then a funeral procession, and finally a monk begging for alms. Looking at this, he left the palace and became a beggar to search for enlightenment. He left behind all the worldly pleasures and the materialistic world in search of the truth.
